AVA Acoustics provide specialist consultancy services in Environmental, Building and Industrial noise sectors. The principals use experience in scientific and engineering fields to investigate, report and advise on a range of acoustic situations extending from entertainment noise issues causing nuisance to designing noise containment solutions in buildings. Specialists are Institute of Acoustics qualified.

Related work assignments have included design of courtrooms, large entertainment centre & hotels with noise sensitive issues, noise nuisance solutions for numerous clients, disco noise control solutions, Air Over Pressure and Vibration measurements in relation to Quarry Noise, Industrial Noise issues, EIS (Environmental Impact Statements), Noise issues relating to Planning Permissions, Court cases, Health and Safety reports for leisure venues and staff training.

AVA can comfortably work with architects, engineers, interior designers and venue owners to design appropriate solutions that will keep sound out of noise sensitive areas such as bedrooms, meeting rooms and dining rooms. The noise associated with air handling plant, bottle handling and refrigeration can be advised on and solutions recommended.

AVA are equipped to computer model rooms and recommend appropriate acoustic finishes for different applications. This is usually an interactive role as the "sound" of any space will vary widely with room finishes.

Sound emanating from a hotel is considered environmental noise when it reaches the outside of the hotel. Environmental noise issues are subject to daytime and night-time guidelines. Noise cases relating to entertainment venues are very common due to location, times of operation and the nature of the entertainment provided.

AVA recommend inclusion of acoustic design at the outset of projects as retrofit solutions cost considerably more than a planned solution. AVA are experienced in working in partnership with a design team.
